Today’s campaign stop was at the Cobb County Republican Women’s Club for their monthly luncheon. Normally, I have photos but today was a little unique.
I do appreciate the Republican Women giving me a few moments to chat. Normally, I talk about how important it is that our state adopt a strategic plan (a business plan), create a program to directly invest in counties, and communicate a stronger Republican narrative.
Today’s words were a bit unique, and I was moved to do something I haven’t done in a very, very long time. I just said a small prayer. I can’t really say what that means other than I felt a sense of relief. For those that also said a prayer for me, I felt a deep sense of appreciation.
I’ve been a Republican for 20 years because I believe in the power of individuals. I’m a Georgia Republican today because of the nature of the people in the room (and across the state). By and large, we care for one another. We hurt when our friends hurt. We feel the pain of a life lost. We rejoice in hearing of people’s successes.
It’s just what Republicans do. We love America because we love Americans. No matter your background, ethnicity, gender, or identity. It’s just what we do.

Another night on the road, this time up in Murray County. Many thanks to Chairman Kevin Jones for giving me a few moments to speak tonight.
I also hope I’m not overstepping my bounds in saying this, but Kevin deserves to know his Republican Family is there for him right now. If you’re one inclined to prayer, please offer him a moment in those prayers. If you’re not one that relies on prayer, offer him your heartfelt support.
This Republic survives by all of us lifting each other up in times of need - not because the government says we have to, but because our hearts remind us we need to. ... See MoreSee Less
